Counselling/Interventions
Growth Mindset Centre will devise an intervention plan to best support a young person’s presentation. After an initial assessment and interview, an intervention plan will be formulated and discussed with the young person and their parents to check for best fit. For example;
Autism:
Sandplay therapy for a young person mainly non-verbal; CBT for emotional regulation; or a computer evidence-based social skills program.
Short-term sessions:
Solution Focused Therapy, CBT or skills development to deal with the problem quickly.
Trauma:
Sandplay and Symbol work so a young person can express their concerns in a non-challenging way.
ADHD:
CBT to understand our emotions and skill building to support emotional regulation.
Rebates:
Medicare rebates of $96.65 may apply for interventions if your child is referred from a General Practitioner and receives a Mental Health Care Plan. If your child is referred by a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician for Neurodevelopmental Disorders there is also a rebate. The referring practitioner will suggest how many sessions are eligible for rebates.
